So you’ve decided to visit China — great choice! Between the Great Wall, the food, the culture and the business opportunities, China is genuinely one of those destinations that stays with you. But before you start packing, there’s one thing standing between you and that flight: the visa.

Don’t panic. We’ve processed hundreds of China visas at MNS and we’re going to walk you through exactly what you need.

What type of visa do you need? For most travellers visiting China for tourism or business, you’ll need a L visa (tourist) or M visa (business). If you’re attending a trade fair — like the Canton Fair — the M visa is your go-to.

Documents you’ll need:

  • Valid international passport (at least 6 months validity)
  • Completed visa application form
  • Recent passport photograph
  • Flight itinerary and hotel booking confirmation
  • Bank statement (last 3 months)
  • For business visits: invitation letter from your Chinese host company

How long does it take? Standard processing takes 4 working days. Express processing (if you’re in a hurry) takes 2-3 days. Always apply at least 2 weeks before your travel date — don’t leave it to the last minute!

Pro tip from MNS: The most common reason visa applications get rejected is incomplete documentation. We review every application before submission so nothing gets missed. That’s why our approval rate is so high.
